†    It has been my privilege to serve as a pastor at St. Lorenz since 1990: first as a member of the pastoral team and then, since 1998, as the team leader and Administrative Pastor at St. Lorenz. This is an exciting place to be and to serve. As you explore our web site, I pray that you will catch a sense of that excitement and will experience the love of Christ which is at the heart of everything we do here.

Primary Focus: Provide direction for the corporate life of the congregation (church & school): its worship, staff, and lay leadership. Primary Fuctions: Develeop and promote a vision for the congregation's ministry that provides direction and enthusiasm to its staff and members. Plan worship services that give flory to God and build up His people. Take special note of the pastoral needs of individuals on the church and school staff. Provide leadership in funding the mission.

Caring Ministries Senior Associate Pastor

I thank God for the opportunity to serve His people at St. Lorenz - people "On A Mission" to show through daily words and actions how beautiful it is to live with Jesus.  As we worship and work together in this common mission, our prayer is that each of us will grow in our learning of what it means to be a member of the Body of Christ, and that those we serve will "see Jesus" and be blessed by a closer walk with Him. Primary Focus: Provide and facilitate pastoral care to individual members especially in time of need. Primary Functions: Coordinate pastoral care visitations to those who are hospitalized, home-bound, in nursing homes, etc. Be responsible for individual membership issues. Coordinate counseling and support services (Stephen Ministry, pastoral counseling, and professional counseling). Organize ministry to our inactive members. Lead social ministry and parish nurse programs. Assume responsibility in the absence of the Administrative Pastor.

Teaching Ministries Family Life Pastor

Primary Focus: Provide and facilitate ministry especially in the significant events which occur in the lives of families Primary Functions: Develop programs and events to strengthen marriages and families (classes, retreats, seminars, etc.) Develop an intentional ministry to families before and after the baptism of a child. Plan and provide children’s worship at church and school. Coordinate a program of instruction for those anticipating marriage. Coordinate the junior high confirmation program for our parochial school and public school students. Provide direction to the Bible study program at St. Lorenz.

Reaching Ministries Outreach Pastor

Primary Focus: Provide and promote Gospel outreach to those nearby and in distant lands. Primary Functions: Organize and lead efforts to identify and communicate with prospective members. Assume responsibility for the instruction and welcome of new members. Coordinate an effective program of assimilation so that those who are new to St. Lorenz become an active e part of our fellowship. Provide opportunities for St. Lorenz members to become more aware of world mission activities and to participate in such activities when possible. Advise auxiliary groups(Lutheran Women’s Missionary Guild, Lutheran Laymen’s League, Ladies’ Aid)

 

 

 

 

Assisting Ministries Chaplain

Primary Focus: Provide and facilitate ministry to and through senior members of our congregation and community. Primary Functions: Serve as primary visitor to the homebound members of St. Lorenz and to our members at the Frankenmuth Care Center and Independence Village. Officiate at special Communion services for thos who are less mobile, but still desire to receive Communion in a worship setting. Develop ministry to and by senior citizens. Serve as chaplain to The Lutheran Home. Since we share our chaplain’s time and position cost with The Lutheran Home, he performs many duties for that institution. In his capacity as St. Lorenz chaplain to The Lutheran Home, His main task is to visit our members there and to minister to them and their families in time of special need.
