LWML – Lutheran Women in Mission
The Lutheran Women in Mission have a passion for bringing the lost into eternal fellowship with our Lord Jesus by being obedient to His call for workers in the harvest field and offering our hands, feet, voice and silver and gold to extend His Kingdom both at home and abroad. Any woman of confirmation age may join the LWML or come to our monthly meetings usually held every third Monday of the month. One of the easiest ways to help is to pick up a money collection box, called a mite box, in the LWML bookstore, located in the church basement and bring a full box back to the church and deposit in the wooden Mite box located by the book store. For information email Tracie Kuck or call her at 810.422.8049.
LWML Morning Retreats
Want to get away? You need no luggage, passport, or time off work. Watch for our Women’s Saturday Morning Retreats. We get together for about three hours to share prayer, Bible study, to laugh and maybe sing a little—and our brunch buffet is a big hit! You’ll go home with some new Biblical insights and new/renewed friends. We love that women of all ages attend! For information email Tracie Kuck or call her at 810.422.8049.
We sell cards, books, Bibles, gifts, etc., to congregation members and visitors. We provide these religious goods to those who cannot drive or those who need devotional materials and gifts. All proceeds to missions through LWML mites. For information call Sarah Kramer at 989.652.8912.
LWML Blanket Making
We make hundreds of quilts every year for Lutheran World Relief, knowing that they will comfort someone we will never meet. Yes, blankets can be used for a cozy and clean new bed, but also for a baby carrier, a place upon which to sell goods in the marketplace, a sack in which to carry items, a sunshade, a shawl, and a reminder that somebody far away cares. If you can cut material and tie a knot, you can help us make blankets! For information call Judy Laux at 989.652.6669.
LWML Annual Bake Sale
So many people look forward to our bake sale! For many decades, it has been a major fundraising event because everything is delicious! We are always willing to accept the donations by new bakers. Springerle? Butterhorns? Lebkuchen or other traditional Christmas cookies? Those are best sellers! Consider helping in this holiday-favorite bake sale! For information contact Marylin Bernthal at 989.652.2515.
