MUSIC MINISTRIES

Adult Choirs

Mixed Choir, Treble Choir, and Men's Chorus

The various choirs at St. Lorenz exist to serve God through music ministry. Choir members find great joy in bringing the Word of God to the congregation and in leading the congregation in worship and praise. It holds two functions: to preach the Word through the words of our psalms and anthems, and to lead the congregation in worship and praise to the Triune God. The members are uplifted through their participation.

For information about joining the Mixed Choir email Myles Hayden.

For information about joining the Treble Choir email Diane Gladstone.

For information about joining the Men’s Chorus email Myles Hayden.

Wind Ensemble

The function of the St. Lorenz instrumental ensemble is to enliven and enrich the corporate worship of God in the assembly of believers gathered at St. Lorenz. Goals of the instrumental ensemble include supporting congregational singing and adding interest, variety, and color to congregational worship. Through their playing, the ensemble seeks to effectively lead singing, to encourage the worshiper in their faith, and to offer praise and glory to God with a joyful song. Working in harmony with other players, and in humble service to the church, ensemble members strive to faithfully use their God‑given talents with a spirit of dedication, self‑sacrifice and excellence. If you have experience playing a traditional band instrument and would like to join the wind ensemble email Michael Keller.

Praise Teams

The St. Lorenz Praise Team Ministry serves to lead God's people in meaningful praise and worship music in the CONNECT worship services. Each week a team rehearses twice and then leads the congregation in worship music on Sunday morning. There are four praise teams that each lead one Sunday of the month. Extra teams are put together as needed for 5th Sundays or special events. Additional musicians, unable to make a long-term commitment, are on a sub list.

Members of Praise Teams receive song lists and music in advance to practice on their own in order to prepare for rehearsals. Praise teams are generally made up of: 2-3 vocalists, acoustic guitar, electric guitar, bass player, drummer, and piano or keyboard player. Each team has a leader who organizes and runs rehearsals.

The Praise Teams have devotions together, pray together, and serve together to the Glory of God and the building up of His people.
